After what felt like a very long drive we arrived at a wet and windy East Lancs Road and immediately went in to an enthusiastic warm-up with Coaches Olly and Newey.

LSH had a small but older and more-experienced team so we split in to Hawks and Harriers and had one game each. The coaches did well to keep the non-playing team interested, especially with the weather as it was, but everyone managed to have lots of fun.

The Harriers with Newey were first up - Jayden, Freddie, Jake, Saul and Olly. The team put in a brave performance and held a very good LSH team to an 8-8 draw. Jayden and Olly were their usual tag-team scoring tries aplenty. Freddie used his fast-feet to good effect scoring some fine tries in the corner and Saul enjoyed his game thoroughly. Jake in only his third appearance had some great runs and scored an excellent try.

The Hawks with Olly were up next - Jamie, Jack, Sam, Calum and Dan.
In another hard-fought game the team came out on the wrong end of an 11-6 scoreline. The game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests with LSH having one stand-out player gaining most of their tries. The boys stuck with it and Calum was his usual enthusiastic self. Jack used his mean game face to good advantage and had some great runs. Sam skipped around all over the place and Dan had another fantastic game. New boy Jamie returned and showed a great grasp of the game.

Once again the coaches had an extremely tough decision to make for the MoM honours with almost everyone holding their hands up.
The decisions eventually went to Calum for his ever-enthusiastic performance and Jake for his supreme effort and massively improved game.
